University of Western Macedonia founded on 2003. University of Western Macedonia consists by three departments in the city of Florina and three departments in the city of Kozani. The University of Western Macedonia includes 21 Departments in 5 cities of the homonymous Region, Postgraduate Programs and PHD Programs, a highly qualified academic staff, extensive international links in both research and exchange programs and a vibrant student community. Novel practices deliver academic and administrative decentralization enhancing the sense of unity within the academic community. Fostering fully incorporation of ICT in every day practice, the UOWM invests in innovative educational programs and multidisciplinary fields of research that correspond to the needs of the modern world. Till now, UOWM has managed more than 150 projects (both, National and European). University of Western Macedonia has rich experience in managing national, European, and international projects. In particular University of Western Macedonia has been participating,
as a leader and partner, in numerous Life Long Learning projects and programs. It presents strong capabilities in participating, handling, and managing ERASMUS projects such as ERASMUS Mobility and ERASMUS+ Strategic partnership projects. In addition, University of Western Macedonia has the experience of participating in COMENIUS and ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility projects. Furthermore, it has a strong background and expertise in managing, coordinating, and organizing mobile seminars, courses, and lectures. It is worth mentioning that ARRANGE-ICT: pArtneRship foR AddressiNG mEgatrends in ICT, which was driven and prepared by the University of Western Macedonia, while it is coordinated by the Technical University of Sofia received the first prize of quality from the Bulgarian national agency, while it was selected among the 8 top Erasmus+ projects.
The internationally research oriented University of Western Macedonia (UOWM) is a socially committed institution with 21 Departments, Postgraduate Programs and PHD Programs.
