ACTIVITIES

Learning, Teaching, Training Activities:

1st Pilot lecture on “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” (Invited teachers at higher education Intensive Study Programmes – Experts from non-HEI partners that will also perform teaching).
1st Pilot lecture on “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” (Intensive programs – Students and accompanying teaching staff from HEI partners).

This activities concerns a comprehensive set of pilot lectures for the course “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” that will be developed in the context of O2 Academic Curriculum on Smart Energy Management Systems. In particular, during this activity, selected chapters from the course will be tested for their efficiency and soundness in 5 lectures that will be performed to student volunteers by the academic staff of UOWM. UOWM has adequate experience on courses in the ICT domain, whilst the complementary experience of the academic staff of IUH and UCY will ensure the smooth conclusion of this activity. This activity aims to provide a first feedback regarding the developed curriculum, the applied methodology and if it addresses the educational needs of the students. A set of questionnaires will be distributed to students in order to evaluate their experience during the courses.

Events: C1: SP-HE-IST & C2: SP-HE-IPL

1st pilot lecture on “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” will take place online from Monday, September 20th 2021 – till Friday, September 24th 2021at University of Western Macedonia, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

2nd Pilot lecture on “Smart Energy Management Systems” (Intensive ProgramsStudents and accompanying teaching staff from HEI partners).

This activities concerns a comprehensive set of pilot lectures for the course “Smart Energy Management Systems” that will be developed in the context of O2 Academic Curriculum on Smart Energy Management Systems . In particular, during this activity, selected chapters from the course will be tested for their efficiency and soundness in 5 lectures that will be performed to student volunteers by the academic staff of IUH. Additionally, since O3 Online Platform for Joint Distant Courses will be completed until this activity, the online platform for joint courses will be tested for its usability and ability to facilitate the performance of the joint courses. Regarding the participants, UCY has considerable experience on courses in the ICT domain, whilst the technical expertise of PPC in energy systems and the complementary experience of the academic staff of TUS on courses in the ECE domain will ensure the smooth conclusion of this activity.

This activity aims to provide valuable feedback regarding the developed curriculum as well as the developed online platform and if they both can address the educational needs of the students. A set of questionnaires will be distributed to students in order to evaluate their experience from using the online platform as well as to assess the quality of the curriculum.

3rd Pilot laboratories on “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” and “Energy consumption monitoring with energy meters and security aspects” (Invited teachers at higher education Intensive Study Programmes – Experts from non-HEI partners that will also perform teaching).
3rd Pilot laboratories on “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” and “Energy consumption monitoring with energy meters and security aspects” (Intensive programs – Students and accompanying teaching staff from HEI partners).

This activities concerns a comprehensive set of pilot laboratory exercises for the courses “Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Devices” and “Energy consumption monitoring with energy meters and security aspects ” that will be developed in the context of O2 Academic Curriculum on Smart Energy Management Systems. In particular, during this activity, selected exercises from these courses will be tested for their efficiency and soundness in 5 lectures that will be performed to student volunteers by the academic staff of TUS. Additionally, since O4  Online Platform for Remote Labs will be completed until this activity, the online platform for the remote laboratories will also be tested for its efficiency and its ability to facilitate the performance of the laboratory courses. Regarding the participants, TUS has remarkable experience on performing remote laboratories in energy systems, considering also their participation in the second activity, whilst the technical expertise of PPC in energy systems, the highly skilled personnel of K3Y in information security and the experience of UOWM by the previous teaching activities will ensure the smooth conclusion of this activity. This activity aims to provide valuable feedback regarding the developed laboratory exercises as well as the developed online platform and if they both can address the educational needs of the students. A set of questionnaires will be distributed to students in order to evaluate their experience from using the platform for remote laboratories as well as to assess the quality of the laboratory exercises.
